Make some easy changes and save big. There’s a new tool from the EPA called the Energy Star Home Advisor. It can give you customized recommendations for improvements based on a few past bills. You can see the energy savings for each improvement, as well as associated greenhouse gas reductions.
Suggested improvements can include sealing leaks and ductwork, additional insulation or programmable thermostat and changing ighting and applicance to newer Energy Star designated models which meet strict energy efficiency specifications set by the government. Energy Star is a joint program of the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Energy established to save money for consumers and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.
