“Checks in the mail” by May. $600 to individuals, $1200 to couples. $300 for each child younger than 17. Phase out begins at $75,000 income or $150,000 for couples. Minimum income of $3,000 will earn a $300 rebate. Seniors, disabled vets, and vet widows who receive $3,000 a year also will receive a minimum $300 even without earnings, based on a new provision the Senate added. This will cost the government only $168 billion. Let’s hope it works.
